Write for Eawodiz: Lend Your Voice to the Wilderness

At Eawodiz, we specialize in the knowledge that prepares minds and bodies for life outside the ordinary. Founded by Tyvian Norcroft, our platform is dedicated to offering grounded, practical insights into shift signals, outdoor exploration basics, wilderness survival, trail navigation, and camp setup strategies. We operate from the heart of North Dakota at 1543 Catherine Drive, Bismarck, where our doors are open from 9 AM to 5 PM. Each page we publish is crafted to equip, clarify, and connect those who hear the call of the wild.

We believe the best expertise often lives in the hands and minds of those who live the stories. If you’ve sharpened your skills on the trail, lived the quiet victories of wilderness problem-solving, or developed practical systems for navigating uncertainty outdoors, your insights could help empower others. Writing for Eawodiz isn’t just about contributing content—it’s about joining a network of thinkers and teachers who elevate the standard of outdoor knowledge.

Why Write for Eawodiz?

We are passionate about creating meaningful, factually grounded content that reflects measured experience, not conjecture. The outdoor world demands accuracy, clarity, and thoughtful methods—and we hold our writing to the same standards. You won’t find fluff or filler here. Instead, we aim to publish useful, actionable ideas drawn straight from the field.

By writing with us, you’ll:

  • Share knowledge that helps others operate more confidently in the wild.
  • Have your work showcased to a growing outdoor readership that values authenticity and depth.
  • Join a thoughtful editorial process that prioritizes clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Build meaningful contributions under your name or through anonymous authorship—your choice.

Eawodiz content is not quick content. It’s content with purpose, rooted in years of field-tested wisdom and delivered through a tone that respects the weight of responsibility outdoor adventuring often entails.

What We’re Looking For

If your strengths lie in translating grounded experience into clear communication, we’d love to hear from you. Some of the key content areas we currently publish in include:

  • Shift Signals: Interpretive insights into ecological change, wilderness rhythm patterns, emergency cues, and gear behavior at various altitudes or weather extremes.
  • Outdoor Exploration Basics: Discussions of trail prep checklists, general hike or exploration planning, and how to balance minimal gear with maximum preparedness.
  • Wilderness Survival Strategies: Practical approaches to long-term shelter, foraging, water retention under duress, emergency fire-starting, or injury mitigation.
  • Trail Navigation Techniques: Instruction on working with (and without) maps, using natural markers, aligning navigation tools, and reading poor visibility terrain.
  • Camp Setup Hacks: Precise methods for site location, sleep improvement, food setup, rain planning, and nighttime visibility safety.

Submission Guidelines

We respect our contributors’ time, and in return we ask that all submissions meet certain criteria to streamline the writing and review process:

  • Submissions should be between 900–1,300 words and written in a measured tone.
  • We do not accept AI-generated or unverified material. Personal knowledge or properly cited experience is essential.
  • All facts, techniques, or statistics must be accurate, field-tested, and applicable in realistic settings.
  • Include a short author bio (under 100 words) with your first submission, even if you choose to publish anonymously later.
  • You may suggest relevancy-based internal links to existing Eawodiz pages. However, final editorial inclusion will be curated by our team.

All entries go through an editorial review. Depending on current volume, response times range from 5–10 business days. Our intent is always to provide thoughtful feedback, even for delayed publication or declined drafts.

How to Submit

To submit an article or pitch a topic idea, email us at [email protected]. Please include “Submission – [Your Topic]” in the subject line. Attach your piece as a Word document or Google Doc link with access enabled. Supporting images are welcome but not required. If included, photos should be original and relevant.

If you have never published before—don’t worry. Experience in the field matters more than experience on the page. We’ll work with you to polish your submission if the content shows strong potential and aligns with our voice.

Your Work, Your Voice

We value diverse backgrounds and voices. Whether you’re a forest ranger, a trail medic, a self-taught adventurer, or someone driven to educate others through what you’ve lived, your voice matters. Our readership includes responsible explorers, emerging wilderness leaders, and resilient individuals who aim to prepare, not panic.

We also recognize that some contributors may prefer to remain anonymous in the spirit of minimal recognition and maximum contribution. That’s wholly acceptable—our mission is to equip the next reader, not seek credit where it isn’t wanted.

Build Something That Outlasts the Moment

At Eawodiz, we see written contribution not just as education, but as legacy. Articles become part of a growing archive that empowers future explorers to act appropriately in unexpected moments. If your voice can help someone light a fire in the rain, recognize a shift in wind and wildlife before others do, or pitch a tarp to weather the week, then we want to hear from you.

We invite you to submit your ideas and help us translate silent skills into active knowledge. Thoughtful words, when written well, can save a journey—or a life. Let’s craft them together, in service of the next person on the trail.
